Cumbria County Council has signed a £51m contract with BT. Fibre broadband is set to become available to 93% of Cumbria homes and businesses by the end of 2015. BT will contribute £15m to the project, with further contributions from BDUK (£17.1m), the European Regional Development Fund (£13.7m) and a Performance Reward Grant from all councils in Cumbria (£5m).
