The Staffordshire Broadband project has signed a £27.4 million deal with BT to deliver high-speed fibre broadband to around 97% of homes and businesses in Staffordshire by spring 2016. Around 95% will have access to superfast broadband speeds of 24 Mbps and above.
BT is contributing £12.47 million to the project. The county council is investing £7.44 million, with an additional £7.44 million from the Government’s Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) framework.
The first communities in Staffordshire will be enjoying high-speed broadband from early 2014.
